So I just added a book by search (The Illuminatus! Trilogy with ISBN 1-85487-574-4), and I can't access any of the features. Everything I click just states "this is a private book". I don't think this is right because there are 33 other reviews for it.

On a side note, I deleted the book and re-added it and the search told me I had a duplicate ISBN - which would appear to be incorrect (unless there is some delay in purging the book data?)

Could you tell us how you added the book and what exactly you clicked on that gave that message.

I added it via search for ISBN. I can't access anything to do with the book. For example the link to The Illuminatus! Trilogy just ends up with "Problem: This is a private book"... does the link work for you?

I can get to it just fine, but I have a copy of the book in my own catalogue, so maybe that's interfering.

There is a new feature being developed to allow you to set individual books to "private", which is showing up in tickboxes on the manual add page, at least. Can you try editing the book details (clicking on it from your catalogue, I suppose) and seeing if the tickbox is there and checked?

I can see it too, but this sounds like something that should be posted as a bug, in this group:

It works for me. But that's a link to a work, which is a kind of combination of many people's books. As a work cannot be private I don't see what the problem could be.

I've posted this in bugcollectors as suggested: http://www.librarything.com/topic/100867
