Description:

The leitmotiv of the 2009 edition will be Self, and the relationship with others. The fragmentation of the individual left a profound mark on the culture of the 20th century, both in literary and artistic fields.

The participation of Egypt as guest of honour for 2009 has been planned specifically to coincide with three cultural events dedicated to the nation's history and culture: the great archaeological exhibition of underwater treasures that opened in February 2009 at Venaria Reale; the display of the re-organisation plans for the Egyptian Museum, which continues to improve its exhibition spaces and the communication of its many attractions and resources, in view of the radical transformations awaited for 2011 and 2013; the exhibition at Palazzo Bricherasio dedicated to Akhenaton, the sun pharaoh.
