2006 doesn't read well in 2024. The plot is fine, the characters are fine but the wording is out of date. A stand alone but part of a set about twins. This is the youngest of the boys, Christian.
This book was much better then Her Master and Commander that started the Ask Reeves Series. Christian is a wonderful character and his story was much more interesting and the storyline more involved. I almost did not read this book due since the first was so boring.

Really enjoyed this book. Bood 2 of 2 (Just Ask Reeves)
Oh my, a bad boy on a horse, dressed in black, steeling kisses that can leave a lady breathless. ...sigh!
Far too precious. Couldn't get past page 50.
Odd title. No officer in sight...
