Sienna Collins is astonished she is let go from her job due to being investigated by the federal crimes she hasn't a clue about. She travels from Philadelphia to the Amish community of her childhood where her B&B is run by a manager, who she finds dead on her arrival. What has been going on at her renovated B&B and who has killed Troy? Sienna's world spins out of control when one after another revelation is revealed, much to her shock. Can she figure things out before anyone else gets killed?

An enjoyable story, with plenty of twists to keep the pages turning. Sienna's relationship with her doctor boyfriend, Heath, and the detective on the case, Mike, confuse her heart for a while until she learns what she needs and who loves her as she is. ( )

I was enjoying the beginning. I started getting bored in the middle but liked the ending. ( )

Mindy Starns Clark has always been my go-to author for good Christian mysteries. Also a favorite of my book club, By The Book, we chose Secrets of Harmony Grove for our January meeting. A twisting mystery, I think most will enjoy how Clark has woven the past into the present with this novel set in Amish country in Pennsylvania. Not an Amish novel, per se, it does include Amish characters and the bucolic setting of Lancaster.

The action revolves around Sienna Collins’ B&B, a profitable business that Sienna has entrusted to the capable hands of her manager, Floyd. But when her ex-boyfriend is killed and Floyd and a local woman are attacked by a fire-breathing creature, Sienna is determined to get to the bottom of what is going on. The adjacent grove, an obsession of her deceased grandfather, seems to be at the center of the mystery and is the object of much of Sienna’s investigation.

Secrets of Harmony Grove is fast-paced. The mystery is interesting, although some of the elements are a bit far-fetched. I found Sienna’s character exasperating. For such a successful and determined woman, she sure is irresponsible. Other characters are not really well-developed. The blending of the family history and the present mystery is definitely the strength of this book. Of all of Starns books, this is my least favorite. ( )

Never felt any sympathy for the MC. Read it as a favor for a friend who hoped I'd enjoy it as much as she did. ( )

I enjoyed this book once I got through the scenes of the first day and night. I liked the first person approach and felt very much a part of the action. ( )
