Surfer Dog is a story about Pete and Blackie. It tells of their obsession about water. The story also shows how they befriend each other in town. They have both moved to a new town recently. Their love of water and surfing binds them together and also helps them grow. Above all they have to surf.
In this story of the eleven year old surfer and his dog, I found myself remembering the beaches I visited as a child and hearing that call of the ocean. I didn't live a couple blocks away or go everyday like them, but I have carried those sites and sounds with me. I thought Spurr did a great job bringing you in and letting you feel you were part of the story. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves the ocean and dogs. It will deliver so show more much more. show less
