Cut and sew is one obvious way of introducing shapes to a piece, and provides the designer more creative options.
Shaping on the loom while the warp is still under tension for such things as neck-openings is arm holes etc. will enable greater control over the appearance of the finished article. Circles would need to be done on a board-and-nail-loom perhaps made of plywood. Awkward but not impossible.
The book explains these methods and many others in written detail, with black and white diagrams and photographs of finished items.
The front of the book has 8 pages of colour plates to accompany the text.
The book is an accompaniment to Weaving You Can Use. ( )
