Goblin Tales

One of the characters in the last story says, 'One of these days, J. R. R. Tolkien was going to climb out of his grave and devour the brains of every hack who published a third-rate Xerox of his work.' For my taste he could start with this author. The first few stories aren't too bad for the genre, but the final story dragged the rating for the book down. But if you like fantasy conventions, maybe you will think otherwise.

You don't have to be familiar with the Goblin Tales Trilogy to enjoy these stories. This was my way of dipping my toe into the goblin waters and find out if I'd be interested in reading the entire series. It worked. If you like your fantasy slightly skewed and humorous then you'll like Jim C. Hines.

This was a quick read which I finished in a few days.

An amusing and well written collection of short stories that complements the Jig the Goblin trilogy.

A 5-star rating from a reader not particularly fond of short fiction; but, hey, was desperate for more Jig and very glad I gave it a chance.

Short but sweet collection of stories starring Jig, Smudge, & other heroes of Hines's Goblin Hero series. Folks who haven't read the books may not know everyone involved, but fans will be pleased.

Na gut, es gibt ein paar Kurzgeschichten zu der Trilogie. Die sind aber auch ganz witzig und es dürften keine mehr nachfolgen. Hat mich sehr gefreut, Jig.
