Wonderful book! I have been using clickers with my horse and horses I've trained for the past four years, and am very impressed with the results.

Clicker training uses positive reinforcement to shape behavior. The book provides clear descriptions and easy to follow steps, as well as excellent (and heartwarming) examples.

Clicker training can be combined with Natural Horsemanship and desensitization exercises, or used to reinforce groundwork. Used properly is a basic tool that can really foster better communication with your horse.

I've used a clicker to teach and then reinforce such equine good citizen basics as picking up and picking out hooves, trailer loading and unloading, tarp crossing, plastic bag acceptance, saddling, standing for show more mounting, whoa, haltering, worming, and all sorts of other behaviors. show less

I believe this method of training can work for any horse of any age and helps to reinforce to the horse the expected behavior. It is also a good way to learn patience and learn how to teach in baby steps. Another of my favorite books.
