Perhaps the most comprehensive and in-depth look into Bruce Lee's personal philosophy. For those who say Bruce Lee wasn't all that original miss the point completely. Firstly, he never claimed ownership of the things he wrote, nor did he, I suspect, ever intend to publish any of it. These are notes and personal journals. There's a lot of Krishnamurti, Musashi, Lao Tzu, etc in there, but that is what Bruce Lee did; he is a master collector, and he knew how to apply that knowledge to himself and his own life.
I liked this book although at times I found it hard to comprehend or explain to people. Bruce Lee believed that all knowledge is ultimately self-knowledge and although the martial art he was creating Jeet Kune Do is highly effective in combat and set the blueprint for modern MMA. Bruce Lee believed that Jeet Kune Do is much more than a way to bash someone but rather it should be incorporated into your everyday life. This book deals with the philosophical side of Bruce Lee and Jeet Kune Do and how he has incorporated the Jeet Kune Do philosophy in every aspect of his life.
This is a very inspirational book and one I will return to often in the future. Many people get caught up in the personality that was Bruce Lee but this book shows his deep love for philosophy.
