Signs [2002 film]

First saw this alone at work on the grave shift, and it scared the crap out of me. The "everything makes sense" ending seems more contrived than Sixth Sense, but it's still fun. Can't figure out what the hell happened to the director after this.

The story of the Hess family in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, who wake up one morning to find a 500-foot crop circle in their backyard. Graham Hess and his family are told extraterrestrials are responsible for the sign in their field. They watch, with growing dread, the news of crop circles being found all over the world.

A widowed former pastor (Graham Hess; Mel Gibson), living on a farm in Pennsylvania, along with his son (Morgan Hess; Rory Culkin), daughter (Bo Hess; Abigail Breslin), and brother (Merrill Hess; Joaquin Phoenix), must learn the cause of the mysterious "signs" left on his property. Their amazing discovery will lead to major decisions and changes within their family. Recommend.

There are at least 7-8 uses of vulgarity, along with some minor gruesome images.
