Wild. That's the first thing that pops into my head when thinking about Logan Edgington, the newest Wicked Lover. Logan's story is my second favorite in this series, right after Luc's story.

Belong to Me is one of those sweet stories about past mistakes and second chances. While dealing with his mother's murder, sixteen year old Logan Edgington gives up the love of his life, Tara Jacobs, in order to keep her safe. Twelve years later, his love for Tara is just as powerful and as strong, so when he sees her again, he decides to win her back and never let her go.

Logan is such a wonderful character. He's sexy, dominant, strong, intense and, like I said before, wild. But there's also a softer version of him underneath it all. He's devoted to show more his first love, even after twelve years of not seeing her, and he's willing to do anything for her, even die to keep her safe. He's not ashamed or afraid to share his feelings with Tara and he does it over and over again, every chance he has. He's not scared of saying "I love you" and I think that's so great.

Tara is afraid of Logan at first. She lost her trust in him at sixteen, when he left her after taking her virginity, and she's not exactly willing to trust him again. Her mind keeps telling her to run away from him, but her body recognizes Logan as the only one who can truly love her and pleasure her. I think she was trying really hard not to admit that she still loves him while he was training her to be the perfect submissive. She's also very stubborn and she fights Logan every step of the way, maybe because she's trying to make him see her as the woman she's become, not the old flame she was.

I loved this book. It was so refreshing, the story was touching and sweet and tender. Second chances are really hard to get and I'm so happy Logan got his. I think Ms. Shayla Black did an amazing job at telling this story.

I’ll be frank from the beginning I had a little trouble finishing this book. Now to qualify that statement, the story isn't terrible, the characters aren't unlikable I just couldn't read more than a few pages at a time. Most of this is probably the chaos that is my life at times. My attention is fractured and my concentration is nil. None of this should be blamed on the author or her story.

I liked Logan the first time I read about him. He is the tortured, alpha hero that I am drawn to over and over. He gave up the girl he fell in love with in high school because some head case was threatening her life. He has carried a torch for every day since. I don’t necessarily approve of some of the methods he used to keep Tara “Cherry” show more Jacobs at his side but I understand his motives. I love all his dominance and mastery. He is what I would want as a Dom if I were looking for one. He is caring, compassionate, loyal, honorable and willing to be a hard ass if it will get his sub to cooperate. He can also be single minded and stubborn as a mule.

Tara “Cherry” Jacobs is an FBI agent determined to find and save her friend from white slavers. This is her first field assignment and nothing is going to stop her from doing what she feels is her duty. She is a little stuck on herself at the beginning, doing all she can not to cooperate with the training that she needs for the undercover assignment. I loved watching her coming to understand her nature and the pleasure that could be had in submitting to the right Dominant. There were times I was sure she wasn't going to give Logan a real chance to win her trust and love again. She comes around in the end.

This book is a little heavier into the Dominance and submission play than the previous books. There is pain involved in some of the scenes and some public play and nudity. The subject is also harsh for some people. While there is no detail about what the woman that have been captured have really gone through there enough hints to leave little doubt in the mind. There are also plenty of bad guys to keep you guessing who the mastermind of the operation is. This is a pretty representation of this genre and for those that like BDSM stories you all should enjoy it very much.

I've been following Shayla's career for a couple years now. And while I have a couple of her early Wicked Lovers books sitting on my shelves, they've gone unread as of yet. So, when I talked with Shayla's assistant about a guest spot on the blog, I was offered an ARC of Belong to Me. Well, who's going to turn down an ARC? Not me.

Word of warning. This book is HOT and pushes some boundaries. If you don't like to read about domination in the bedroom, this book is not for you. This story totally revolves around Logan and Tara and their Dom/sub relationship... or rather her being introduced into it. First, it was for her FBI undercover training, but it does grow from there. Sometimes, I felt things went a little too far as Logan taught Tara show more and wondered how their relationship was going to grow. But as Tara grew more confident and got past her past, their relationship flourished and the Dom/sub thing didn't seem as wrong as it did in the beginning.

I'll be the first to admit that I don't get the appeal of BDSM. But it's been interesting to read about. This is probably the book that's gone the furthest into exploring domination in all those that I've read. Shayla was able to create a love story that show the love and trust between to characters in such a relationship. There's such a fine line between being equals (even though one is "dominant") and being abusive of the apparent power over a submissive.

I think I could've used a little more meat in the plot outside of the bedroom or BDSM club. Yes, the story is about Tara and Logan's relationship, but they're brought together again because of an FBI mission. I would have liked to have seen that mission be explored a little more. Part of me felt that it wrapped up just a little too nicely in the end.

But that said, I'm glad I finally read one of Shayla's books. Now I need to get back and read the earlier books in the series. In no way did I feel like I missed out on anything by starting with book 5, but I believe a couple "stars" from past books made appearances in this one. This will definitely not be my last Shayla Black read and if you're looking for a scorching erotica, pick this one up!

I just finished reading Belong to Me and I want to go back and read it all over again—it’s really that good. I’ve been a fan of Shayla Black and the Wicked Lover’s series for a while and I can safely say this is my favorite book by her and the best book in the series. You’re probably saying, well that’s just because you just read it. NO, seriously, there’s suspense, HAWT BDSM lovin’, a strong ALPHA hero, a deserving heroine, excellent writing, a kept-me-guessing plot, and a sweet, lost-love, love story. To see Kimber's full review visit http://www.guiltypleasuresbookreviews.com/2011/11/review-belong-to-me-wicked-lov...

I enjoyed this as seeing Logan's story (and meeting Xander - yes I'm reading this series out of order) but I have to agree that the identity of 'Sire' was fairly obvious from quite early on.

I don't know but this also just didn't seem to flow as smoothly as some of the others in this particular series. Nothing bad, just felt a bit 'bitsy' in some aspects.
Not that great and definitely not my favorite in the series. Logan and Tara had this history that I thought would pretty much dominate their relationship and it did. Sometimes, not in the best way with Tara being distrustful and totally frustrating, and then with Logan not willing to give her up for anything made things a little bit better. The ending was great though.
