I generally love books about running but this one rubbed me the wrong way. All of the essays read like they were written by a grumpy old man who can never be happy with the way "kids these days" do things, even when it comes to running. He also vacillates between taking a populist and elitist approach to running, which drove me nuts, more so than authors who are strictly elitist!
