The book is an adaption of the computer game "SSN." As such, this is a book about how a sub is handled in a artificial battle more than a normal Tom Clancy book. The book places a lot of detail in the description of the weapons and the different subs with little character development or real plot. however, that all being said, if you are interested in such things this is a great book.
About a submarine evading others to accomplish an important mission, and destroy enemy subs.
