Description
Felicity Jones, David Tennant and Benedict Cumberbatch star in BBC Radio 4's full-cast dramatisation of the novel by Jane Austen, one of the great English classics. Seeking a position in society, young Fanny Price goes to live with her rich aunt and uncle. But her life there is not as she might wish. Felicity Jones plays Fanny, whilst David Tennant is her cousin Tom and Benedict Cumberbatch his brother Edmund.Tags

Mansfield Park is my least favourite of Jane Austen's novels (which, for the record, still puts it leaps and bounds ahead of many books) but this BBC radio play production is truly excellent and a joy to listen to. Some of that is due to the fantastic cast (just look at those top billed names) but the adapters also managed to make Austen's most chunky work into a streamlined narrative that flows. Highly recommended to Janeites and non-Janeites alike.
I listened to this for the "An Audiobook" part of my 2019 reading challenge. I enjoyed Felicity Jones and David Tennant, the story was nice and short and was well condensed.
