While wondering what the hell he ever did to deserve being sent to the middle of bum fuck Idaho- the hero must survive his punishment in silence and cope with the fact that he's surrounded by country bumkins and completely out of the loop of society. Then he meets the heroine. Ghost tour guide extraordinaire with her long unruly hair, sexy cut off shorts and braless tank top-she is the one somewhat decent part of the two damn town. But she's a tad bit crazy and a lot eccentric and she has a habit of strolling into his rented house anytime she wants with a complete tour of ghost enthusiasts. The heroine herself has the honor of being a ghost tour guide while never actually seeing a ghost herself. Though she knows all the stories by heart and hears all the spooky encounters of other visitations, the ghosts tend to keep their distance from her-that is until the city slicker walks into her life. Suddenly the damn house is like a scene from the Poltergeist. Dishing flying everywhere, slamming doors and one ghost in particular has the habit of locking the sexy hero and her in rooms together, leaving them to stew in the heat and their sexual tension. Married and divorced before her 25 birthday, the heroine has always longer for a man to make her hot-divorcing her now ex husband because of the lack of chemistry between them. And woo boy does the hero make her hot. But he's temporary and completely opposite to her in everyway. She's country, down to earth, casually honest and family driven. He's city, fancy shoes- fancy car and tall long legged women. He's also completely honest with the fact that at the first opportunity, he's getting them off of town and back to his life in Chicago. But that doesn't stop them from desiring one another or kissing and touching at every chance they get-even if most of their intimacy is disturbed by one ghost or another. As they grow closer emotionally and find that their casual fling is anything but, the reality of the chasm between them hits home. One of them must give up the life they've known for a chance at happiness with another but who's willing to make the change? This is a contemporary paranormal romance with a erotic undertone and though I generally dislike contemporary romances and can take or leave erotic romances, I can say that I did really enjoy this book. Maybe it was because it had heart, and more than a generous helping of chuckle worthy humor. Both the main characters and the cast of secondary characters were charming and funny- all of them seeming to have been tossed in with each other and trying to find some common ground. I did fear like it could have used a bit more drama and conflict which I was hoping would have made an appearance with the bosses houty daughter coming to town but she turned out to be quite funny herself and not at all the villain I was expecting. Dispite this, I liked this book and do thoroughly enjoy reading every book this author publishes. ( )

Plot was good, some steamy sex, and parts pretty funny but it didn't grab me like some of her other books. I got tired of the standard tension in building a relationship. City slicker Boston is sent to oversee factory in country town Ohio and meets haunted house tour guide Shelby.

Erin McCarthy is a hoot. SOP for her books is lots of humor, memorable characters, and quirky attitudes. ( )
