My understanding is that this is the 3rd in a series of the Sisterhood characters. I have not read the prior two novels. I've read previous Fern Michael novels and have enjoyed them. "Vendetta" was an easy read, and the plot was unique and interesting enough. The reason for the 3-star review, was the juvenile dialogue and behavior of the characters. I just couldn't get past this. Several times while reading this novel, I found myself rolling my eyes over the immature actions. The writing was what I would expect from a novice, not a professional.

I didn't realize this was part of a series but it does stand alone. The Sisterhood is a group of women and Charles Marten who right wrongs under the radar of law enforcement. Some of their activities especially with Charles's background in MI6 are not exactly above board but they help those that have been unjustly treatment by the law.
Five years ago Myra's daughter who was pregnant was run down by a hit and run driver. The hit and run driver was covered under diplomatic immunity and left the country never to return. However, it was time for justice and the Sisterhood would exact theirs.
What follows is the journey to go and meet out justice to the offender and the revenge Myra so longed for. The trip goes from England to China and back show more again.
I found Vendetta to be a great read and plan to look into more of the series. It was flowed along with a fast pace that never slowed and, to be honest, I liked the idea of the Sisterhood and what they did for people. show less

I enjoy Fern Michaels' romance novels, but found myself wondering if it was even worth continuing to read Vendetta at several points. I kept waiting for it to get better, but it never did. There's no romance, there isn't much to make you like or care about the main characters, and the plot is unbelievable and uninteresting. There are so many great books out there. Don't waste your time on this one.
This book is just as fast paced as the first two in the sisterhood series. It is now Myra's turn to exact revenge for her daughter. Myra is the wealthy woman who put this group together. I have not lost interest in them yet. Still looking online for when the next one comes out.
The chinese man that killed a young mother to be and baby in a hit in run was sent back to China. The group of seven found him, brought him back to the US and "cainned" him to a bloody pulp. After wrapping his barely alive body in a white sheet covered with antibotic ointment they returned him back to London and from there, China. He was too ugly to have a life. The specifics of the others lives was discussed in the book; however, not in enough depth to get in touch with their inner lives.
I loved books 1 - 7 of this series. I wouldn't read beyond that.
