This was my least favorite of the series. I felt like, compared to the other books in the series, this one was a little sloppy and the story was moving too fast. I also wasn't a fan of some of the characters pairings/matches and it seemed like some of the characters were immature despite what they went through and overcame. Maybe just my annoyance with them.
I still really liked the themes of redemption and forgiveness throughout, but I just wasn't as enthusiastic about this read.
But also whew- if God can forgive King Manasseh after all the evil that he did, then certainly we can forgive others as well...

Joshua has fled from evil King Manasseh, and has led the faithful remnant to their new home in Egypt. But years pass, and Joshua's desire for vengeance becomes an obsession. He is blinded by his hatred of King Manasseh and that hatred, will cause him to make bad decisions, which places many people in grave danger. Once again Miriam will step in and save Joshua's life, but in the process do damage to her own. Joshua will finally see Miriam for the person she really is and love will finally blossom. But there is a continuing battle with Joshua to seek revenge.
This story spans many years, and in the end you will finally see many of the main characters finally grasp the great love their Heavenly Father has for them, and for the chosen show more people of Judah? Very much appreciated the way this author wrote this series about a time in Bible history I was not that knowledgeable of. Did things unfold just like this story, probably not, but the end result of King Manasseh was a fact from scripture. A job well done and well told. show less
