Not sure if this is just background, or an outtake from a novel. In either case, it's interesting to read but I'm glad it's not in a book. The first part expands on what Kris thinks about at the beginning of Resolute, how she got tricked into drafting Jack. The rest is a very choppy set of scenes where Kris and her training group go to a planet, planet gets basics on using the Fast Attack Boats wrong and Kris works to fix things, something blows up (sometimes literally) and planet tells Kris to get lost (with varying degrees of courtesy). Kris goes on to next planet. Interesting side stuff.
