They Want Her To Save The World. As If.One minute I'm out with my sorority sisters; the next there's a terrible accident (beyond my friend Stacey's outfit) and I'm waking up in some weird clinic transformed into a human cyborg—with a mission: to stop evil and stuff. Uh, hello? I've got a beauty salon to run.
Granted, it is cool to run faster than a Ford Mustang when I need to, even if it's totally hard on my shoes. But then I have to bring in another human cyborg on the run? One who show more happens to be male, totally gorgeous, smart, funny—and, um, his "enhancements"?—as if!
"Davidson's over-the-top humor and raunchily funny sex scenes will delight her fast-growing cadre of fans, while Janet Evanovich fans will also enjoy Davidson's rough-talking heroine." —Booklist. Fiction. Romance. show less

Part romance, part science fiction, part mystery and loaded with silly humor Hello, Gorgeous! is the story of twenty-four year old former sorority sister, party girl, hairdresser Caitlyn James who is transformed into a government agent cyborg after dying in a car accident. Caitlyn keeps her personality - and her fashion sense - but due to her infusion of "nanobytes" she gains superhuman strength, speed, and memory recall. The downside is that she has no desire to work as a secret assassin for The Boss, who is responsible for saving her life.
Wanting only to highlight her hair - and possibly beat up her supervisor - Caitlyn is reluctantly persuaded to use her talents to track down a serial killer but her main motivation to join the hunt show more comes from meeting Dimitri Novakov - a handsome rogue agent with a few secrets of his own. He's everything Caitlyn could want in a boyfriend, but he also might be the killer she's after.
MaryJanice Davidson crafts a delightful, fun adventure in this lighthearted and sexy novel. Similar to Davidson's Alaskan Royal Family series, the characters are witty and likable. Though the cyborg plot is certainly ridiculous, the unbelievability factor only adds to its humorous charm as a fast-paced summer read. show less

Caitlyn James wakes one day to find herself cyberised and the government want her to do their business. She fights this in the best way that only a MaryJanice Davidson heroine can. She only has an ambition to make her beauty salon the best it can. She also finds romance with another agent.
It's pretty typical MaryJanice Davidson stuff and sometimes I did want to slap the heroine but it's compulsive reading.

Caitlyn James is salon-owner in her mid-twenties, a woman who changes her hairstyle to suit her needs and moods. After a limo accident in Miami (a trip she had taken with her best pals to celebrate her birthday), she wakes up in a Minnesota hospital only to discover that she's been fixed up with nanobytes--she's the new Six Billion Dollar woman. None too thrilled that she's been enhanced without her knowledge or permission, Caitlyn has trouble adjusting to her newfound powers--and the fact that she now is indebted to The Boss, the man who had her enhanced and who runs a top-secret government organization.
Caitlyn agrees to perform one job for The Boss--find and "neutralize" the guy responsible for infecting the world's computers with show more nasty viruses that download porn on a person's computer. When she finds the suspect, she realizes the geek only needs a thirty-second sexual encounter to curb his porn-virus habits.
Only, of course, one job isn't enough for The Boss. There's another cyborg-enhanced OSF Agent loose in the world, someone who has gone rogue and is killing the doctors who make up the team that made them. The Boss is determined that Caitlyn will find the rogue agent--who he believes is Dmitri--and bring him to justice. Unfortunately, Dmitri is the first guy Caitlyn's been attracted to in a long time, and she has doubts that he's really the killer.
Another MJD story with a sassy, loud-mouthed heroine, a to-die-for hero, and a best friend who pulls no punches in the form of Stacy, HELLO, GORGEOUS! is a quick, fast read.
The story is rather short, but it's funny and typical MJD. show less

First in the Gorgeous series. This has a young woman who is killed in an accident but she brought back to life by a secret US Military division. Now she's working for them or is she not. She goes out to find whomever is killing the medical team who brought her back to life. Along the way she encounters a man who is similar to her. Much funnier than this would have you believe and quick and easy read.
Contemporary romance is what it says on the spine, but it's more chick lit/paranormal. Heroine is in an accident & would have died, except she's picked up by a shadowy government agency and transformed into the Bionic Woman. There are actually two romances in the book, but they take a back seat to the humor and action.
Very quick, light reading, great beach pr summer patio read. Suspend belief and you'll laugh. What fun.
Classic Davidson. Snarky and funny.
