Pooh visits Dr. Owl for his "animal checkout." With some reassurances to allay his anxieties, Pooh goes through the regular steps of an annual check-up with little explanations for all the doctor's instruments and a vaccination shot at the end that doesn't hardly hurt at all that will prevent "bumps and weasels."
A cute tale that I had to read to my daughter over and over, before every doctor visit or on any day she had to stay home sick.
(My Pooh Project: I love Winnie the Pooh, and so does my wife. Having a daughter gave us a chance to indoctrinate her into the cult by buying and reading her every Pooh book we came across. How many is that? I’m going to count them this year by reading and reviewing one every day and seeing which month show more I finally run out. Track my progress here:

Nice story, but if you do not have your children vaccinated, you will have to explain the shot Pooh gets in this book.
Fun picture book explaining an annual visit to the doctor's office, including getting a shot. Friends help out a lot.
Pooh thinks Christopher Robin is sending him for his animal checkout. It happens that Christopher Robin actually wants him to have an annual checkup to make sure that's he's healthy. Owl listens to Pooh's heart, checks his reflexes and immunizes him, and all's well.
