Description
Most girls would throw a fit if their parents tried to set up an arranged marriage for them. It's so outrageously old-fashioned-even for a Tiguri family, members of a fierce race of shapeshifting weretigers. But Saskia isn't getting her claws out just yet. She'll go through with this marriage to help unite two powerful families-and because her husband-to-be Nicolas Preda is the sexiest, hunkiest, and only man she's ever wanted . . .Of course, marrying an alpha male like Nic comes with its show more share of danger. As leader of his Streak and head of a global corporation, Nic and his new fiancee must take their places in the jungles of Manhattan-and the local Others seem to have a strict "no pets" policy. In fact, the Council seems to think the Tiguri are at the root of all their problems, including an attempt on the life of its leader. If Nic hopes to protect his name and his mate, it's hunt or be hunted-and he can't do it alone. But if anyone can bring out the beast in him, it's the sexy, savage tigress he's sworn to love . . . show lessTags

Yuck. 5 stars? REALLY?????
Let's see, woman raised as a belonging, sold to the highest bidder. Check. Male determined to turn a smart, witty, highly intelligent woman into a mindless automaton belonging, who "WILL NOT leave this apartment without permission!!!" Check. Throw in a little politics, a mystery figured out in the fist few pages, and a LOT of sex, and BAM. Another poorly written, poorly conceptualized bomb of a book gets published, while exceptional writers are still self publishing with their own money? (I think I just threw up in my mouth a little bit.)
What is it with you people???? Woman as sex crazed idiot, letting some macho man do everything from rape to home imprisonment, then falling in LOVE with the pig????? And that show more is OK WITH YOU?!?!?! Oh. My. God. You R.E.A.L.L.Y. need a reality check.... and a good psychiatrist! show less

fe the heroine has been raised to be become the perfect wife- the perfect mate. And for the most part her parents have succeeded. She is polished, polite, sociable and everything feminine and graceful. Even as a child, the heroine knew the older boy was meant to be her mate. She would follow him everywhere, attached to his hip. The hero felt affection for the younger girl but as a teenager he couldn’t very well be attracted to a girl more than 6 years his junior. As they grew up, their parents fashioned together a betrothal to bond together the two powerful families. Now, the heroine is reunited with her childhood crush and he’s everything she remembered and more. Large, powerful, stunningly hansom but aloft and distant- the man show more who’s to be her husband and mate is a frightening creature. They understand their respective roles to their new relationship and as such develop a quick and cordial relationship. But the hero is reclusive and often leaves her alone in the empty apartment. She becomes lonely and as such that secret fire to be a passionate woman begins to emerge. She’s still a submissive but she starts to stand up for herself. She’s no longer complacent with just being a wife, she wants to be a mate- someone the hero can rely on and trust with his fears and desires. So when he’s accused of murder, the heroine’s inner beast comes out and she fights to prove the man she loves is innocent. This was a lovely romance. Slow paced and easy but never boring, I thought this romance had a smooth flow and a laid back vibe about it that made it a joy to read. I was in love with the heroine because she was the perfect balance of submissive and assertive. She would stand back and let the hero take the rains when needed but she’s also put her foot down when she had to. Because they had such an understanding of each other they really had the perfect relationship forged on that bond of a strong partnership. I feel like this author really is a hit or miss sort of story teller but this was defiantly as hit. show less

All I’ve got to say about On the Prowl is WOW!!
I just started reading it and was like I can’t stop until I’m finished with it. I found out that this is the 13th book in the series and I couldn’t tell it. I never felt lost or that I was missing anything. I still need to go back and read the other twelve.
Saskia is a woman that I would like to be. Everyone thinks that she is so submissive and goes along with whatever her parents want. She has a little rebellious streak in her. She is a very strong and brave shifter. She has always loved Nicolas since she was eight years old. Twenty years later she is getting her wish to mate with the show more man she has always loved.
Nic is a very strong Tiguri. He has it all mapped out in his mind on how his mate will be. Let’s just say that all that gets thrown away. As soon as his engagement ring went on Saskia’s finger everything changed. He started having feelings for her and getting very protective.
I really enjoyed the whole book. There were times that I got mad with Saskia on the way Nic was treating her. Sometimes I couldn’t help but laugh. I loved watching Saskia and Nic come together. Even if Nic thought he had everything planned out and the way things were going to be between the two of them. Nothing happened that way and he learned to live with it. They both learned to work together.
The Council doesn’t really trust the Tiguri. When something starts happening to the Council leader and the Tiguri is the number one suspect Nic and Saskia need to come together and find out what’s going on before Nic get punished or banished forever.
So this is the kind of book that I love to read. I can get really into it and it gets so exciting. I never know what is going to happen. I’m always filled with a wonderful feeling inside at the end. I will cherish this book for years to come.
This is the first book that I’ve read by Christine Warren and I’m proud to say she’s one of my favorite authors now. show less

I liked this paranormal romance. The story took place over just a couple of days and all the action seemed to happen really quick. The characterization of the hero and heroine was nice. The bad guys' plot was a little hazy but all in all a good addition to the series. Although I believe this is a rewrite for mass market of an old Ellora's Cave book. There could have been more shifting to really make me happy.
This book is set in the time frame of the original stories but wasn't part of those stories, so it isn't a re-write. This story is about tiger shifters or Tiguri. Nicolas Preda and Saskia Arcos have become engaged to bring two of the most powerful families Tiguri families together. Nicolas has moved his businesses main office to New York because that is where so much business is now conducted. He has is whole life planned out and thinks that Fate is just going to go along with his plans. He is so wrong about that. Saskia may have been raised in the traditions of her people but she isn't going to be some meek little mate that never knows what is going on with her family and her mate. These two are very intriguing because the love their show more families and traditions but they both want to bring the 20th century into their world. There are appearances by old faces; Missy who is now very pregnant with her first child, Graham, Dimtri and Reggie, Corrine, Mac and of course the ever charming Rafael De Santos. There is more history in the story about the Others and their prejudices. This is a good addition to the over all story. It is written in a time before Rafael has found Tess. I think fans of the other stories will enjoy this one very much. show less
I really enjoyed this book, but then I enjoy most of Ms. Warren's books. This book brings a new species with new traditions to the world of the others.
