Alan D. Schrift is F. Wendell Miller Professor of Philosophy at Grinnell College, Iowa. His most recent book is Twentieth-Century French Philosophy: Key Themes and Thinkers and he is editor of the nineteen-volume Stanford University Press translation of The Complete Works of Friedrich Nietzsche.
