Another Betty Neels novel, in my continuing quest to read all 134 eventually. This is a very early one, the second she wrote, I believe. She hadn't quite hit her stride yet, but all the elements are there. The heroine is a very Scottish nurse, Maggy MacFarland, who is a very competent nurse, and attractive, but sensitive about her size as she is nearly six feet tall and large framed, though not overweight. She hasn't had much of a love life, since most 1960s guys weren't looking for take charge women who tower over them. (The original title of this book was "Amazon in an Apron". Yikes!) But then she meets Paul Doelsma, a Dutch physician from Friesland, where pretty much everybody is built large. And he has a mother in need of special show more nursing care, and a tendency to go after what he wants in this life and so it all develops.
