In "Peekaboo Morning" by Rachel Isadora, a toddler is playing a morning game. The story begins in the girls room on her bed with the sun shining through the window. She then plays peek-a-boo with her mom, dad, grandparents, and objects that are important to her such as a toy train. She plays the game by saying "Peek-a-boo, I see......" The story ends by saying "You!!"
This book is geared towards toddlers, and I think it was definitely a winner. My two year old daughter was absolutely mesmerized. It did a wonderful job of keeping her attention. It is a book of very few words, but still tons of detail. The pictures are captivating, simple but bold. . On each page is a clue to the next page as too what she might be seeing next. Peekaboo show more Morning is also a book of repetition. It encourages toddlers to engage when they are able to predict the repetitive parts of the story.
If reading this book to a classroom, or an individual child, one could of course play peek-a-boo. The story could also be the start of a conversation of the child's morning routine, or maybe members of their family. One of those short, sweet, and simply beautiful books. show less

Bad blurb, excellent book. Would be even better as a board book. Perfect for wobblies (one-year-olds, just starting to walk).
This is an adorable little peek-a-boo board book. Very simple text but the pictures are cute! A little one plays peek-a-boo with people and animals around their home. For an early board book for babies, this works very well.
Love the illustrations! Great illustrations help us to get so much more from the book because we can move beyond the text to discuss other aspects found in the book. Baby seemed to enjoy this one.
Cute and fun vocabulary is used to illustrate the process of waking up for the day.
This book is about a young toddler who walks around his home and interacts with family members, animals, and friends. Illustrations are realistic and colorful. Best suited for toddlers.
