About what I expected with short but fact-filled articles about interesting events and people. Much of this I had read about in the past but some had been forgotten over the years and some of the articles informed me about bits of history I didn't know. However the best thing was the huge number of illustrations. This is really more a coffeetable book for browsing than a sit down and read in one go.
