Arthur’s Fire Drill is an easy read book. This book is about D.W. who is going to have her first fire drill at school. She believes that there is going to be an actual fire at her school until her brother assures her that it is just practice for if there is ever a real fire. This is a really good book for a teacher to read to their students who have never experienced a fire drill before. Many of the students may be in the same shoes and D.W. and may believe that there will be a real fire. After reading this book you could talk about what fire drills are like at school and how you could also practice a fire drill at home.
DW is taught about fire drills in school. she's scared to go back to school because the school might catch on fire. so arthur teaches DW about what to do incase there is a fire. DW takes it a little far but the next day at the fire drill she meets a fire fighter.
This is a great story for kids to read. It tells about what to do in case of fire. Arthur and DW have the whole family practice fire drills.
