A la mitad del libro estoy completamente segura que no continuaré leyendo, porque en serio me irrita como se desarrolla, PERO luego la escritora va y suelta bombas. Maldita curiosidad
Continuing my not-very-formal write-up on this series...
C.C. Hunter continues to impress with her fantastic Shadow Falls series (I seriously devoured these first four books in a week) but I just about threw my eReader across the room as Kylie continued her insane obsession with Lucas. She is such an awesome character in every other respect, but this whole Lucas/Derek/Kylie triangle is terrible. I cannot BELIEVE Lucas's decision in this book! Hopefully, it is the straw that broke the camel's back and Kylie can move on - but the way things have gone so far, I'm not holding out a lot of hope.
Other than the love triangle that continues to be pitifully bad, the twists that Hunter threw into the story are great - and the ending leaves things show more dangling beautifully! The secondary characters continue their awesomeness; I can't believe it but I even found myself sympathizing with Fredericka here (shocking, I know). I can hardly wait to see how everything turns out in the final book Chosen at Nightfall in April. show less
Holy crud!! I thought the action and suspense was high in the last 2 books of the series WHISPERS AT MOONRISE is equal if not more filled with everything we love from the Shadow Falls series.
Some of my thoughts on the different things in WHISPERS AT MOONRISE. Lucas is a douche. Seriously how selfish and stupid can you be? I have always liked Derek, and he continues to be likable. The Moms new boyfriend really creeps me out and I'm willing to bet he is not on the up and up. Holiday and Burnett yay you guys really should have worked through all that books ago. Della and Miranda continue to be highly entertaining. The FRU continues to weezle their way in to Kylie's life in slimy ways. Loved the Grandfather and Aunt, we are FINALLY getting show more answers to what Kylie is. The ending? I need to know what happens next right now!! Wow must you punish us faithful readers with an ending like that?!?!
WHISPERS AT MOONRISE brings us lots of answers, plenty of drama and great development throughout the entire book. The only bad thing? The final book in the series CHOSEN AT NIGHTFALL wont be out until April 2013. show less

So now Kylie knows she's a 'chameleon' but ?what does that mean. (Although it is pretty hillarious the way that she stresses out about being a lizard). And once again there's a 'ghost-du-jour' although this time at least it's to help someone else.
There's a lot of scary stuff happening but at last Kylie is acting more mature. Lucas is definitely hiding things but she's coming to terms that if she keeps secrets that he's entitled to as wellAlthough keeping secret the fact that you're about to be engaged to someone else but it doesn't really mean anything is a pretty big one .
Kylie finally gets the opportunity of getting some real help with sorting things out. And by the fact that she managed to turn herself invisible accidently signifies show more that she really needs this . So in the near future she'll hopefully be able to get a better handle on things.
It's a real shame that I can't download the finale as yet... but I'm anticipating how the different threads will tie together. I'm hoping that I won't be disappointed. show less

This is the 4th book in the Shadow Falls series and was the best book yet! There are 5 books in this series and a spin-off series called After Dark that consists of another three books. A lot happens in this book and it is so interesting and engaging. There are spoilers ahead for those who haven’t read the first three books.
Kylie has found out that she is a chameleon, but she doesn’t know exactly what that is. She is on pins and needles waiting for her grandfather to visit and explain things. However things get weird when a ghost with Holiday’s face starts haunting her. To make everything worse Lucas is constantly gone and ignoring her because of the demonds of his Pack.
We learn a lot more about Kylie’s power and about the show more history of chameleons among the supernaturals. This was all very interesting. There are also some side mysteries involving Holiday’s past.
I think part of what makes these books so engaging is the side characters and how their lives and issues intertwine with Kylie’s story. It’s fun to see Miranda and Perry finally happy. It’s heartbreaking to watch Della go through some of the issues with her family. It’s interesting to watch Kylie’s mom start to recover from her separation from Kylie’s dad. It’s like a supernatural soap opera.
While this book isn’t incredibly creative or unique it is an incredibly engaging read that is a bit of a guilty pleasure for me.
Overall this was the best book in the series yet. The story makes a ton of progress and we learn a ton more about Kylie and her powers. I am very curious to see what happens next and can’t wait to start reading the next book. I would recommend to fans of YA paranormal books. show less

Like most other books, it didn't get too interesting till the halfway point, but nonetheless, I still enjoyed it.
I LIKED...
THE PACING. Events came and went so smoothly, I enjoyed it very much.
DELLA and MIRANDA. I love that Kylie has such a strong friendship with these two. The two are like opposites, where Della is almost always in a bad mood, Miranda is almost always cheerful. And the both of them together really makes the story that much better.
KYLIE FIGURING THINGS OUT. Kylie has progressed so much since the first book. She now knows with certainty what she is, and she is making her own decisions on what she believes is best. And, she is using her gifts awesomely.
I DILSIKED...
LUCAS. From the previous books, you may recall that show more there is a love triangle between Kylie, Derek, and Lucas. You might've already guessed that I'm totally on Derek's side on this one. Let me tell you why. Let's start with why Lucas is the wrong guy for Kylie: he has a pack that doesn't approve if him being with Kylie to the point where he pretty much ignores her. He's hardly ever there when Kylie needs him, and he can't stand spirits, and hates that Kylie has to deal with them. Oh, and he has such big commitments now...Lucas got married to another girl, so I don't see how this is going to work.
Derek, on the other hand, is so much better. He is always there for Kylie, even when it involves spirits, he doesn't have family disapproving of their being together, and he is soo understanding. He even said "I love you" to her! Personally, I feel that Kylie is an idiot for choosing Lucas over Derek. I really really really hope that Kylie ends up with Derek at the end, if she doesn't I will either sob my eyes out, or mentally throw the book across the room. There are feelings I have about this love triangle, that I can probably never be able to voice, but suffice to say, I hope that one day, Kylie will be happy with Derek, and Derek will feel her feelings for him as strongly as he feels her feelings for Lucas now.
I am looking forward to the next, and final book, even though I know all the books have already been published, so, as much I hate it, I will just have to accept that Kylie might end up with Lucas... show less

Kylie Galen discovers more about herself and about what it means to be a chameleon, while also managing not to lose her temper at the people who seem determined to be paternalistic and also condescending and failing to give her any real inforamation, for which I commend her! She seems to be able to be any species, showing traits of all when she needs to and her grandfather wants her to come and learn more about being what she is. She's also dealing with her romantic life, Lucas seems to be embracing more and more his werewolf side and they seem to be at odds with their relationship. She's not quite as attracted to Derek but he seems more accepting of who she is and what she can do.
Then she starts getting visits from a ghost who looks show more like Holiday, but Holiday isn't dead and her visions are very intense.
All change in this story leading up to the end of the series, interesting series, interesting take on the genre. show less
