A Drop of Rain

An extended family is outdoors on a drizzly day, but the rain only ever seems to plop down on baby's face - and when no one is looking. Everyone in the family thinks baby is crying and tries to come up with something to soothe the baby.

This is a clever - and dare I say, cute - book that tells an entertaining story in a rhyming format. It's great to share when talking about babies, family, and/or weather. The gentle watercolor(esque) illustrations are a lovely fit with the sweet tale and are full of small details that are fun to examine. Even in the young toddlers in my class paid close attention to this book and talked about what they saw in the illustrations.

A good book about a child who seems to be crying to everyone else but is being hit by drops of rain. It is funny seeing when the baby is crying everyone is trying something different to get the baby to stop. It is very relatable to me as an uncle. When the baby cries everyone around looks for a solution on how to help the baby.

This is a story of a family trying to make a baby stop crying. I liked this book because the pictures show that rain is why the baby is crying. You could ask your class id they younger siblings and if they have every tried helping their parents make them stop crying.
