A fourteen year old boy runs away from a psychologically abusive mother and ends up working at a tiger ranch in Texas where he cleans cages and cuts carcasses to feed to the big cats. Surprisingly, what he learns while he's there allows him to stand up to his mother when she eventually tracks him down.
Cody runs away from his New York City home. He ends up in Texas and volunteers his help on a tiger ranch in exchange for a place to live. Cody learns about the care and handling of tigers. It's a dangerous job, and Cody gets to experience it all. AR points = 5
