Dawn Of Change

Susan is trying to sort out her life after she found her husband cheating on her in their bed. She escaped to their cabin in the Mountains.

That's where she meets Shawn (and her dog Alex). They're both in the woods walking when Alex runs up to Susan (splattering Susan with muddy water which was hilarious).

They start as friends. Susan is going through quite a lot and Shawn happens to be a volunteer at a women's shelter and so has seen it all. Because of this it started really one sided, but, soon Shawn finds herself needing someone to listen and a shoulder as well.

I was a little worried at the beginning because it did seem so so one sided, but, I shouldn't have worried. It did not stay that way.

I will say that the slightly "idiot plot" show more (by that I mean that to real people the 'twist' would be obvious, but, this is fiction) with Shawn just not talking to Susan was a little annoying.

But, overall it was a fun book and a fast read. show less

I forgot I had read this book a while ago. Definitely not one of my favorites but ok. I didn't connect much with the characters and there were plenty of typos which also kept me from being as engaged as I would have liked to have been.

I would probably give it 2.5 stars but rounding down because Goodreads says 2 stars is "it was ok" and it was.

*4/24/24 - did a reread with my ears this time. It's a bit dated but I did enjoy it more with Abby Craden's narration. Rounded up to 3 this time.
