I'm glad the series is over. I enjoyed the beginning of the series but not the last few books. ( )

Up From the Grave by Jeaniene Frost
Night Huntress series #7. Final full length novel of the series. Vampire paranormal. Best read in series order. The two newer books listed (2022 and 2023) are from Bones POV and could be considered 1.5 and 2.5 instead of 8 and 9.
Cat and Bones deal with a rogue CIA agent that threaten their existence. It’s finally time to deal with mad scientist Madigan and his experiments on vampires and ghouls. The vampire Queen gives permission and it’s on them to solve the problem.

Cat and her determination and Bones and his protective nature add angst and twists in this novel that are explosive. A fantastic conclusion to the series.
“We were never properly introduced” I said in a vicious purr. “I’m the Red Reaper. And you’re dead.” ( )

I wasn’t madly in love with the final installment for Cat and Bones, but I’m glad I made it through the main series, with the exception of a few novellas I’ll pick up eventually. They’re quick reads in a decent supernatural setting, and I loved Bones from the beginning. Cat grew on me as she grew as a character. Charles and Denise’s book will always be my favorite in this world, unless Ian’s spin-off books wow me. I’m pretty sure the rest of Vlad’s won’t, sadly.

I won’t go into great detail on pros and cons. I’ll just say, if you’ve made it this far, you might as well polish it off! It’s not the best of the series, but it’s not the worst either, and it does provide some closure. ( )

El Extraño Gato del Cuento

Es tan difícil de una historia que te acompañó tanto tiempo, el último libro me gustó pero no me satisfizo como esperaba.

En Up From the Grave encontramos todo lo que nos hizo enamorarnos de la serie: risas, acción, lo hot, Bones, Cat Badass, Ian descarado, recurren también a personajes pasados, se descubren un montón de cosas de las cuales no teníamos sospechas. Solo que yo cometí un error, la serie Night Huntress tiene un spin-off, los libros se leen por orden de publicación y lo leí en desorden,Twice Tempted viene primero, y me spoileo un poquito, no tanto como pensé pero igual hizo que mi ánimo en la lectura bajara un poco. Ya saben ¡léanlo en orden!

Hablando ya concretamente en la trama de este último libro, y aquí dónde viene el spoiler si no leíste este último libro, es que se me hizo un poco... No sé como definirlo, pero el que a Cat le sacaran una hija, si bien prueba otra de las bombas que suelta el libro, no me convenció del todo. Disfruté leyendo, experimentando esta nueva etapa maternal de Cat, es solo que creo que ya me había hecho a la idea de Cat, Bones y su gato. Además no me gustan los niños xD

I read the book in just under 5 and a half hours. I've loved the series since I read the first and will miss the characters. There's a lot of action but, in the end, I think it is a lovely ending for the series. ( )
