I loved this book because it reminds me of my first days as a new big sister! I remember reading books like this when I was a child welcoming my new little baby brother.
Classroom Extension Ideas:
1. This is a great book for K-2 graders. I would read the book to the class then have a classroom discussion about their baby brothers and sisters. Also, we would discuss their older siblings.
2. The art is this book is fantastic. I show more would have a classroom art project and have the kids draw and color pictures of their families. show less

This book its is a good way to explain the transition of having a baby boy in a nice calm way. I think this book can bring some understanding and confidence on what to expect.
"Someone new is at our house," is how this book about a little boy who is excited to be a big brother. This story puts everything good about being an older sibling, and it also lets big brothers know that they are just as special.
A short story from a big brother's perspective on his parents' new baby. He describes some differences between him and the baby, and a few ways that he is able to help with the care of his new sibling. This is a great little book for all big brothers.
A book about welcoming a new baby to the family from the child's point of view. A very cute and optimistic story about being a new sibling!

This book shares the joy of having a new baby in the family. The story is about a little boy introducing his new younger sibling. He talks about all the things babies can't do that older siblings can. He, also, shows that even though mommys and daddys have a new baby the older siblings are loved just the same.
Welcoming a new child to the family is a struggle for many children. This book clearly describes how this process can properly occur.
