Brainstorm

Brainstorm is a fast-paced sci-fi thriller that I couldn't put down! The plot revolves around the use of remote viewers and the development of psychic assassins by the evil Dr. Xiang. The who do you trust and what is real aspect of the story was as good as the nonstop action.

This is the story of Robert Weller, a hardware store owner, who slips in the shower, ends up in the hospital and is now waking up at home on what should be a normal day. We quickly find out that this is anything but a normal day. Small clues tickle at Robert's mind including a sudden suspected power surge that takes out the TV and lights in the house with a bang.
We soon get the hint that Robert is not a normal guy, in fact the all american Colorado town seems to not be a normal town either. Why are people watching and following Robert? Why do they keep dying suddenly?
Sunny McMaster is wife to Daniel who has been missing for 2 years and she along with her military friends are organizing a search and rescue to find her husband who they show more believe was kidnapped for his psychic abilities. They are doing this without the military or US government approval.
They have gotten thier intel from a group of remote viewers. What are remote viewers? They are psychics that can see into the past and future to some extent but usually with somewhat cryptic details.
Sunny needs to find and bring Robert out of this isolated town so he can help her find Daniel without Robert being suspicious of her intentions. Sunny is able to contact Robert and that is when everything starts to go awry.
This is a very unique story that has technology that is not far fetched and exists to some extent, not counting the psychic abilities.
Very good story that kept my attention through the whole book. Ends with a open question suggesting possible sequels that I would likely read as well. show less

Okay, this is a odd book to review; I started and stopped this book multiple times. In the beginning, it's part scifi, part dystopia, but all confusing. I get the story that is trying to be told, but the excursion of the details, and the important details at that, are missing in the final draft. Trust me, you are going to want to read this, but there should be a rewrite to finish off what one day will be a great book.

It started out slow for me, but by the end I couldn't put in down.
