While not Anne Rice, this series is great and definitely beats out Twilight by a long mile. It's geared for a slightly younger audience than Anne Rice's books, and I read it when I was in that target audience. This book impressed me a lot. The story is believable and engaging (with the usual suspension of belief that is needed to enjoy a vampire story) though the method of vampire-making - pressing cut wrists together - didn't work for me because it'd be quite sloppy, or so it seems to me. Still, overall great book and series!
My only major complaint is book 6 and how the series ended. It felt rather rushed and forced and definitely could have been done better.
I'm glad that the books are re-released, since the old ones are quite hard to show more find (single volumes or the old collectors sets) I haven't read the third Thirst book, and I'm not sure if I ever plan to, but the original 6 'The Last Vampire' books are a good read into themselves, comparable to Anne Rice (in her heyday) but for slightly younger readers. show less

Ok there were plenty of parts during this one that had me confused at times. But still it intrigued me completely that it took all of my time or most of it when I had a free time to read. Sita, with her powers and gifts of love she's been given, I think is still selfish in some ways. Granted her whole life has been one huge adventure after another, and death after death. But she has also done good in her life. Met a whole line of wonderful friends along the way whether she has lost them or not. Her mark on the world was pretty huge for her to go back and erase everything. Oh well, guess will have to see what the next book holds.
I read all 6 books in about a week and a half. I used to read Christopher Pike in middle school and was surprised to hear he had a vampire series. Book 6 was really odd to me but the first 5 were good. The series is totally outrageous and pure sci-fi.
Awesome action filled book. It has great religious references and different takes on life. Mind blowing vampire book! Would recommend to just about anyone.
This book was an absolute must read, after reading the first one in this two book set! I once again could not put this book down, I feel this book was written so well that I feel I lived it. I feel I will definitely be looking up more books by this author!
Like I said can't put it down through phantom, evil thrist, but in creatures of forever will be disappointed to read Alisa sinks under the water. Can't wait to start the next book.
