The story is about an Australian sheep rancher that eats pumpkins for energy. He enters a race from Melbourne to Sydney, despite people making fun of his eccentricities. It is a great story of determination and faith. I would definitely tell the story again. It has many character quality lessons in it. The book was found in the E section for everybody in the Statham Public Library.
A wonderful book to show children that running a race is not all about winning. Joshua Summerhayes, the main character, is an odd boy, but turns out to be a hero in the town's harvest pumpkin race.
