I was impressed by this book I read when quite young. An Apache youth escapes from a white school to go back to his people. One memory I have of it is that he had to eat a frog! Good story. Just a guess on the date.
This is the story of a young Apache, raised in the east, but driven to return to the West, to his people and their ways. I thought that the author did a good job portraying both sides of the Apache vs. US Army conflicts.
This is definitely worth a reread.
