Inspector Sarah Lund (Sophie Grabol) is about to leave for Sweden: she wants to move with her son to her Swedish boyfriend's house. But then 19-year-old student Nanna Birk Larsen goes missing and is found dead – in the trunk of a sunken car. Inspector Lund, together with her successor Jan Meyer (Sören Malling), investigates one last time. The case turns out to be much more difficult than initially thought and there are political complications. Researchers are increasingly confronted with lies and half-truths and often follow leads that ultimately do not lead to the desired result. Without exception, everyone in this criminal case has something to hide. Furthermore, Meyer isn't exactly thrilled with his colleague's presence. The plot show more continues to progress, creating the Scandinavian counterpart to series like “Twin Peaks” or “24”. It's no longer just about solving the murder, but about the grief and reaction of the parents, the political intrigues at Copenhagen City Hall, where a local election campaign is underway, and the difficulties of a single mother. Politician Troels Hartman (Lars Mikkelsen) is increasingly under suspicion and his career is at stake. There is resistance within the police to investigate the administration's involvement. In addition to a convincing script, “Inspector Lund – The Crime” also has a good cast, with renowned actors who give the necessary depth to the characters. The realistic atmosphere of the series is also extremely convincing.
