I'm a huge fan of Japanese history and getting to see a time warping book of 1600 Japan was a huge treat. The three characters, Sam, Fred, and Joe are really funny and I loved them after the first chapter. The book also contained cute little pictures that had me laughing. The best thing about the book was that the author included Edo, the Toukaidou Road, and of course the Shogun Tokugawa. I have to say that the only thing I didn't like about the book was the length. Right when I felt like I could explore Japan, the book was coming to an end, which was unfortunate. Other than that, the book was amazing. I can't wait to read the rest of the series by Sieszka.
A very funny, fast paced, and highly engaging read. The three boys (Joe, Sam, & Fred) are surprising well rounded (even if they live for "fart jokes". The incorporation of history and historical facts is well crafted. And it made me laugh out loud.
The story has lots of typical Scieszka humor with good time traveling adventure and a fast pace will make it a popular choice with children. The short text and snappy humor make the story a good choice for reluctant readers.
This is a very funny book about boys that kep mistakenly getting pulled into a book. First they think they kill a samurai that turned out to be a suit. then the real samurai they encounter does tricks.
not realist..but funny.
The Auther is Jon Scieska. Joe, Sam, and Freds have never been in this experience before. Fred, Sam, and Joe were scared of the smauris with swords. So they fought them and they won. Sushi ans soba, kimonos and shoguns, it's an high adventure and haiku in 1600 Japan as the Time Warp. They found out that they had to find the book to get out of there.
