Ms. Frizzle and her class visit the Hugh Mann Costume Company to learn all about skeletons: why we need them, what different bones are for, how doctors fix them when they're broken, and lots more.
Category/genre: chapter book
Notable: Human Anatomy

Mrs. Frizzle goes on yet another adventure with her class and this time it is just right around halloween. The students visit a costume company to learn more about skeletons why we need them, what different bones are for, and why doctors fix them. The adventure the class takes is fun and interesting while still creating a learning experience for any reader. I would love to have students read a couple books from this series so they can target any interests they might have in science.
The Magic School Bus Science Chapter Books are excellent books that describe science facts in a fun spontaneous way. Joanna Cole (author) and (Bruce Degen) always create great adventure for Ms. Frizzle and the class to explore science topics. In this book, the class explores many facts of the skeletal system.
The Search for the Missing Bones is a chapter book based on the Magic School Bus series. This book provides information about the skeletal system and its importance. This book would be best in a second or third grade classroom. I rate this book four out of five because I think it provides good information about the human skeleton in an interesting manner that students will find interesting.
Genre: Informational, Science Fiction

Review: The author does a good job of engaging students in a text that is both informational and science fiction. This popular series is good for students to read because of the information they can learn from it. This book in particular is a children's chapter book where Ms. Frizzle takes the students on a journey to find the missing bones to their costume. It is a science fiction book because some of the trips Ms. Frizzle takes her students on could not really happen but these trips also help teach students a lot about science and true facts.

In this book, Mrs. Frizzle goes on another adventure with her class and the students go to a costume store. They learn more about the skeleton and why we need bones. The students also learned what bones do and what they are. This book would be a great for students to learn about science and is interested in going on an adventure.
Halloween and mentions ghosts in a creepy way many times
