I am torn on this one and while I loved the story I felt that this entire series is missing something.
I love me some Kristen Ashley and have read a lot of her books this series I feel like has all the macho men but for some reason the women aren't hitting it for me.
While reading this I fell in love with Grams BUT, in other series the funny person appeared more than about 5 times total and had a big part in the book. I could not get emotionally connected with the characters or the story. I will be trying out Deacon because I still think Kristen Ashley is the bomb-diggity.

4.5 Stars! She gets me, Kristen Ashley just gets me. She knows sometimes I need a stand alone book that is part of a series where I get to revisit some of my favorite characters and she gives me an epilogue that makes me cry happy tears. She writes a gorgeous story, if you have not read the other books in this series you should treat yourself and start with Knight and then hit up Creed and then you'll be ready for all the hotness that is Raiden Ulysses Miller. This book follows the perfect Alpha male love story mold that only Ms Ashley has perfected. Even though I always have an idea of what I am going to get in a Kristen Ashley story, I am always happily surprised that every book is fresh and provides a lost in book love feeling. It is show more so hard to find a book that has believable sexy hot guy dialogue, I have read my fair share of romance/new adult and there is nothing sexy about bad dialouge. Ms Ashley's men have mastered sexy hot guy speak. This reader buys every word without a single eye roll or shouts of 'seriously, who talks like that?'
I loved Hanna, I wanted to be Hanna, I wanted Hanna's bike. I love to be surprised in a book so I stop reading now if you have not finished this one. I loved the misunderstanding of how Hanna and Raid get together and stay together. It is hot and sweet and I loved them but I will add that it felt a little rushed this time around. I felt like there may have been scenes that were cut that may be fun to have back. I wanted to see Hanna meet Raids' crew and peek in on the first bring home the girlfriend family dinner. I needed more on the hunt for the bad guys that hurt Hanna and her business. I love the suspense Ms Ashley is able to build in her books and felt this one wasn't as fleshed out as in some other titles. I yearned for a Raid POV in the epilogue, like a wedding day or a we're having a baby moment. I loved the bad news scene...really closed the story in the right way. show less

Raiden and Hanna...another hot couple to love.
He's the seen-too-much retired Marine turned bad guy bounty hunter. She's his own personal Peggy Sue. So good girl next door falling for the town's bad boy that it should have been stale but no, this is KA's world and in her world everything is good.
Hanna fell for Raid (only she calls him Raiden) when she was 6 and he was 9. Love from afar and he never noticed her. He went into the Marines after high school and came back broken and haunted, determined to do something about the evil types in the world.
I won't go into the story line of how he FINALLY noticed Hanna or how quickly they fell in L-O-V-E; instead I'll go for some of our background characters (who don't exactly stay in the show more background.) Her Grams, Miss Mildred is a 98 yr old guru who is 21 at heart. She calls them as she sees them ... she first refers to Raid as being the cat's pajamas, and gives good loving advice. She teaches the folks who ask how to cook. Our other extraordinary character, Spot, the cat.....the overweight cat with tons of attitude whom I suspect thinks he's actually a dog. Trust me, his antics will give you a good chuckle.
As in all our stories we have a conflict that they have to get over, his seedy world job and what it may bring into her world if he's not careful. And she of course has to realize that she is indeed "all that" and just what he's been looking for. I mean hell woman, he refers to you as his reward and when he explains that how can you not cry and pledge undying devotion to this man. (She did but takes her a few to clue in that yes, he really is THAT into her)
So once again, another KA book that charmed me, made me cry and laugh, and will be revisited many times. show less

I didn't enjoy this book like I have so many of Ashley's books. The heroine was too much of a doormat to pair well with the over-the-top alpha hero. Plus that whole crawling scene left a really bad taste in my mouth.
I won't be reading the other books in this series.

I read this as a treat for myself between two ARCs I had to read. I wasn't quite as long as some earlier KA books which was a little disappointing but it wasn't like anything was really missing. I really liked the innocent, slightly goofy, girly heroine. I prefer this type to the ball busting snarky heroines that KA sometimes writes.
KA continues to refine her writing style and all her characters do not always speak with the same voice now which is refreshing. Also no flashbacks here as this is not a reuniting couple thank goodness.
There was one scene where the hero, Raid, does something that I totally didn't believe. It was in the story just to create conflict and it was an OTT reaction that no rationale human being would have had. I show more could have believed it if his reaction hadn't been SO extreme. He might have been upset but come on...
This is part of the unfinished hero series but the hero here is at least not a really bad criminal. KA fans should enjoy this one. show less

I was worried going into this book of i would struggle with it like I had the first two books in this series since they have a different feel to them the what I am used to. I needn't have worried because this one felt like coming home to what I love about this author; larger than life heroes, feisty females who know how to balance the alpha overload, and a strong connection.
While I did like the first two books and heroes, Knight and Creed, they didn't hold a candle to Raiden. He was delicious. I loved Hanna and her grandma too. Just a great story. Definitely, one of my favorites by this author.

I have read the first 2 books in this series "Knight" & "Creed" and I have to say when I first read "Knight" I didn't know what to think of the way Knight spoke~ it's caveman talk lol. Then I read "Creed" and well Creed talks the same language. Now one to the main attraction Raiden Miller - yep, you guessed it he talks the caveman language too! I don't hate it it's just different and different is good.
"My girl came hard."
"Haven't tasted it yet, but already know it's perfect."
"Hardware store, back here, installing new locks for you."
Hanna is the town sweetheart but she really didn't come out of her shell until her dream died. Little did she know her dream dying really just made it come true. The thing I love the most about Hanna is that show more she make afghans! She really is a quirkie sweet girl who says what's on her mind. Now Raiden he is a panty dropper to say the least but doesn't every panty dropper have their demons? Now will Hanna except his demons for run for the hills. Lots of hot steamy juicy sex without over doing it. Fabulous Fantastic wonderful ending. We get a little bit of Knight & Creed in her as well.
Quotes:
"Raiden Ulysses Miller. An amazing name for an amazing man."
"Christ, she is adorably ridiculous."
"Warm afghans, pretty blue eyes, totally dorky and an unbelievably wet, sweet pussy."
"Fuck. Wild. Wet. Mine."
"She's a sad, lonely bitch who needs to eat a sandwich and get a life."
