Ik had er meer van verwacht. Lees dit vooral als je gefascineerd bent door Brussel in de tijd van Leopold I. Het leven in een klein pensionaat voor meisjes geeft een goed beeld van hoe de burgerij leefde, met af en toe een glimp naar het arbeidersmilieu en de hogere kringen. Dat Charlotte Brontë het hoofdpersonage is, is niet echt een meerwaarde geworden.
J'ai lu ce livre avec intérêt, parce que je ne connaissais pas du tout cet épisode amoureux de la vie de Charlotte Brontë. Mais je n'ai pas du tout aimé le style de l'auteur, dommage.
