So I'm torn on this one

On one hand, I love reading all the changes in Emily both for her character and what she did to change her life. And I did find her and Nix to be adorable. i did like the added Marine storyline and the idea of what might be causing PTSD or have them holding themselves back.

On the other hand, this is still New Adult. and it seems to fit into a mold now that I can anticipate. It makes reading it a bit boring and frustrating because you always know what's going to happen. And I don't like that.....I think I'm still just burnt out on NA.

Luckily, although this one did have some situations - they weren't too bad (I've read much much more graphic ones!) but it's still not my favorite.
Thinking of this book makes my heart happy! I truly enjoyed reading every minute of it, and it's definitely one of the books I will reread. It's not a mushy romance, it's a REAL romance with REAL people. It slowly evolved and built up to this amazing relationship!

Nix is a prick in the beginning of the book and he knows it, in fact he shows no reservations about it. The thing about him, though, is that he's not being like that just to do it. You can tell that he has buried issues, making him intriguing. The story is told from both Nix and Emily's POV.

Emily is a reformed spoiled socialite. She is branching out and trying to be open to new people and situations. I really like her character, she is not timid and won't really take anyone's show more crap, but she also has a slight vulnerability to her too.

Cover love and writing
I think the cover is okay. It's sexy, but doesn't draw me, the blurb is what drew me in! I Sawyer's writing is great! It's funny and captures your attention from page one! I love how easy it was for me to get lost in it. I am a definite Sawyer Bennett fan now!

Swoonworthy points: 8.0
This book was seven layers of swoonworthy and a side of Holy Hell! Nix is a pure Alpha male without even trying (or caring that he is). There are some super smexy scenes, but the overall swoony part is how you fall in love with Nix.

I'm dumbfounded looking at him. I'm sure he probably thinks I swallowed my tongue in the accident but I have just been blindsided, by what I believe to be, the most physically splendid specimen of a man I have ever seen.

I didn't read the first book in this series, because I didn't care for the cover, nor thought I would like anything about hockey. But I am definitely going to get it now! Overall, this book was great, and a high recommend from me!

Sawyer Bennett did it! After being in a book rut for over a week this really pulled me out. I absolutely adored Nix and Emily and Sawyer Bennett gets an A for telling a story with angst, love, passion, and a little bit of tension that gets the blood boiling. I loved Nix and Emily and hope to hear more about them in the future.
Absolutely wonderful story. Nix is dark and trouble with demons around every corner. Emily is young and vibrant but struggling to find her own way in the world away from her domineering mother. Their attraction is fierce and their journey is filled with angst but in the end love proves to be what each needs. Highly recommended.
A pretty good story exploring different kinds of emotional growth while building a relationship and there was enough variation on the sex-only theme to make it interesting. Also included some basic moral concepts. Emily accidentally runs over Nix on his motorcycle and their attraction begins.

Nix & Emily were attracted to each other from the first crunch of metal. It was exciting to read how Emily got under Nix's skin without him even knowing and then him trying to not let it get any deeper. Emily is a brave, strong, loving young woman who inspires Nix. Nix is a strong, brave, smok'n hot man who just needs help seeing that. Lots of hot juicy sex. Great ending.
