Will has an interview for his dream job, and the guy interviewing and making the decision to hire him is none other than his hot client from last night. Then things get really complicated. Will Parkinson has not had a particular easy life thus far, but he’s back on his feet now and working as an escort to pay off all his student loans. It does have its advantages, such as the really hot guy who hired him last night. Yeah, Blake "rocked his world" several times. But when he arrives to be interviewed for this dream job as a PA in a publishing company, the guy who’s hiring is…..you got it...none other than Blake. Will thinks that just judging by Blake’s expression, this is not going to be a good thing.
Blake Davis is "in the show more closet", and he’s determined to stay right there. If his father ever finds out that he’s gay, Blake could lose everything he’s worked so hard to achieve the last six years as CEO of Trinity Publishing. He’ll put up with his father trying to set him up with yet another empty-headed, social-climbing girlfriend. He’ll keep using an escort agency when he wants a night of hot sex with a cute guy. But the latest cute guy has turned up for an interview....at HIS company. He knows its madness personified to hire Will as his PA, but Will really is the best person for the job. If Blake thought his life was complicated before, it’s about to reach a whole new level.
Blake is the closeted CEO of Trinity Publishing and it's his birthday...he's turning 30. Although he is successfully raising the profile of Trinity, only the people who work there are aware of it. The outside world still believes that his father is running the company. The same father who keeps trying to set him up with various, and all types...of women. The latest one was the daughter of his father's friend and quite a b_ _ ch. Sorry, but there is no other fitting word that describes her!
As a "gift" to himself, he hires an escort for the evening...Alec. When Alec shows up and our Blake has the best night of his entire thirty years of life. So much so that he needs, wants, must have more with this man...with Alec. The last thing he expected was when the next day Will Parkinson shows up to interview for the position as his PA and, you probably guessed it...he's confronted with none other than Will... a.k.a... Alec. Blake's already complicated life is about to be turned inside out and upside down. When you add in a cast of very well written secondary characters you have a book that you can't put down until you read the very last page.
Of course, it IS K.C. Wells, so if you have ever read anything she's written you already know that you are also going to get lots and lots of sizzling chemistry...super, super hot sex scenes and characters that some are not all likeable, some are just okay...and a few you would like to kill and hide the bodies....but they all do have depth and there are some conflicts that will leave your heart aching. So...5 bright and shiny stars! show less

December 22, 2013: Re-read before reading the fun and fluffy sequel [b:More Than Personal|18666564|More Than Personal|K.C. Wells|https://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1381685633s/18666564.jpg|26490887].
Now THIS is a fucking fantastic office romance! Super smoking, mind melting sex between MC Blake, the 30 year gay son of a publishing tycoon and MC Will, a 25 year old rent boy and writer. Blake is still in the closet, hiding his sexuality from his father, so hiring discreet professionals is the easiest way for him to find sexual satisfaction. He comes across Will and hires him for a night of, what turns out to be, hot, mind melting, intense sex. The next day, Blake is interviewing candidates for the position of his new personal show more assistant, and guess who shows up? Yep! Will gets the job and the sexual tension hits an all-time-high. The two men go through many trials and tribulations during the course of the book and eventually fall in love. The epilogue is the stuff of fairy tales and will leave you weeping with joy.
If you like M/M romance with ridiculously hot sex, high drama, back stabbing secondary characters and a glorious HEA, I can HIGHLY RECOMMEND [b:Making it Personal|18068487|Making it Personal|K.C. Wells|https://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1370971573s/18068487.jpg|25363816]. show less

This is the second book I've read by this author and I have to say, she is shaping up to be one I will think of when I want something romantic sexy and entertaining.
Because, that's what this book is. It's fun, sexy and very romantic. The relationship between the MC's starts quite unconventionally but with a bang. The guys are hot, the sex even hotter! We get to know a little more about them as the story unfolds.
And while this whole story could have been a lot more angst-filled and full of drama, personally, I don't always want that. Maybe the problems were a little easy to solve and overcome. And maybe things fell into place a little easier than some would have liked...not me though. I like reading a bit of a fairytale at times. And show more this book hit all those notes just right for me! show less

‘Making It Personal’ appealed to me on more than one level. There is the story that seems simple – a CEO falling for his PA – yet has quite a few twists and turns that make matters a lot more complicated than they seem at first glance. There are the main characters – Will and Blake – men who are not just hot, but have personal histories and current problems that made me root for them from the beginning. And let me not forget the many wonderful secondary characters who fill the pages with life and made me smile more than once. All in all, this delightful contemporary novel set in modern-day London is entertaining, steamy, and made me want more.
When Blake turns thirty, he has a lot to be proud of. After all he is the CEO of a show more growing publishing company that he turned around after his father passed the reins to him six years ago. But that is also where his issues start. Nobody outside the company knows that Blake is in charge, his father takes all the credit for his success, and keeps interfering in Blake’s business decisions as well as his personal life. The closet may be a safe place to be if Blake wants to keep running the company but it is also a lonely place and one threatened by numerous “should-be girlfriends” that his father keeps sending his way. Blake’s fear holds him back, and as soon as he meets Will, his new PA, Blake begins to understand that he may never be happy on a personal level without risking an end to his career.
Will has finally managed to get his life under control. After a past he does not easily speak about, he may still work as an escort so he can pay off his student loans, but that is mostly without any “benefits” for his clients. The one exception he makes turns out to be the man interviewing him for a position as his PA the next day – and Will thinks he’s lost any chance of being hired. Much to his surprise Blake turns out to be utterly professional about the situation (after clarifying a few things), and Will enthusiastically throws himself into his new job. But their attraction doesn’t go away, and they are soon far more involved than either had expected – only to find out that not everyone is supportive.
If you like contemporary stories with lots of drama, heat, and twists and turns, if two men who are clearly meant for each other but need to overcome a few obstacles before they can be together are your thing, and if you’re looking for a read that is as emotionally intense and hot as it is entertaining, then you will probably like this novel.

The romance parts of this, I really liked. I enjoyed both the main characters, the chemistry was good, the sex was HOT, and I felt they got to know each other pretty well while working together.
Where it kinda fell off the rails for me was with not one, but TWO evil bitch women. It just felt unnecessary. First there was the total over the top beard/girlfriend. It did throw a bit of a monkeywrench into things, but ok, I guess it added a bit to the story. But the receptionist part added NOTHING other than to give a place for Blake to have to publicly declare his love. It just felt too heavy handed, and could have been done another way. Karen's story also didn't ring true with me, like it was just there to excuse what she had done to Will. show more I'm not even sure I would have believed it, after what she did. She didn't prove herself to be someone to be trusted, at all, but they just forgave it instantly. It also never explained why she came on to him so strong in the first place, if she was in a relationship like that. show less

This was a fun and quick read with low angst. The back and forth between the MCs is well played. The epi was a bit packed with info, but still a good solid wrap up to the first volume of this series.

I wanted to read this for a while, but had to idea it was set in UK. A closeted CEO hires an escort who shows up for a job interview, hired, then they lust after each other. This produces some scorching hot scenes. In short: perky colleagues, tragic past, controlling father, two conniving bitches, and kinky sex scenes (I don't consider this book BDSM).
Apparently book 2 has different MCs...might read it
