Yet again the Jungle Doctor is in the thick of a battle for people's lives. There is so much that good medicine can do to tackle injuries and disease yet local customs and superstition hold back the hospital staff at one mission hospital from saving one woman's life. The doctors and nurses have to work in poor operating conditions with very limited equipment and drugs but despite everything other lives are saved! My Grandma Petrie introduced me to the Jungle Doctor series in the 1960's. The author, a medical missionary to Tanganyika, wrote these adventure stories based on his own experiences.
