This book is great for any child. It gives great descriptions on transportation around the world. Using real picture's instead of drawing is a real world connection.
Review: On the Go is a book that offers a multicultural look at the various ways we get from place to place. The book has a very simple text and vivid real photographs taken around the world. The index gives brief descriptions of each photograph and list where they were taken.
Personal Response: I enjoyed the photographs in this book. They allow opportunity for discussion and expansion of vocabulary.
Classroom Extention:
1. Dictating Stories: Children will choose one of the photographs and create a story of what they think is happening in the photograph.
2. Create a classroom graph of how we get to school.

This book teaches children how many people from around the world get around such as walking or boat riding or by taking the public transit services that their town or country offers. This book would be good for children 3 to 6 i would read this book in a small group or at circle time. i would also use this book for a lesson plan about how there are different ways to get around to where you want to go.
Shows all the ways we can travel, walking, boating, car, train, bike, helicopter, plane, even rocket. It also showed carts pulled by Ox or Ponies. The photography and cultures used through out the book is like a National Geographic magazine. It will be a great way introduce to children.
