It's rare that I want to purchase a book after reading a library copy, but this is one of them. It's filled with beautiful, vivid illustrations, and packed with fascinating animal facts. It is intelligently organized, and has plenty of white space so that the reader can really focus on the information and illustrations. Pretty much all kids like reading about animals, and they'll come back to this one over and over. ( )

Big and impressive. A lot of the artwork is gathered from work on other smaller books by the same author. This would be self-plagiarism if the author weren't so refreshingly honest about this. I'm looking forward to checking out some of the other books. ( )

An informational text using Steve Jenkin's ingenious collage work to complement the factual information. A Collection of the Fastest, Fiercest, Toughest, Cleverest, Shyest―and Most Surprising―Animals on Earth. This book houses a collection of facts for over 300 different animal species. It also explains Jenkins' book making process, includes a large glossary, index, and bibliography.

This animal book is great for any animal loving human. The book is so well organized and very easy for students to navigate. There are tons of animals and each animal come with descriptions of itself, its habitat, its diet and much more. I think this would be a great tool to have in the classroom. This year, my third graders got to choose an animal and research all about it. This book would be a great and safe resource for them that is all written in kid friendly language. ( )
