What a wonderful book and way to portray what our ports and harbors do in our society! This book is full of words (and not just the ones at the bottom). There are words on the ships and a whole page full of "Ship Shapes" at the end. The images are very colorful and many different types of ships are represented so the children would get a good view of a real harbor. I believe this book to be intended for 3-5 year olds.

I love how this book has a easy rhythm to it. If you have a child that love boats. He or she will ask for this book to be read again and again. It would also be something to put in a free choice area.

This book that brings to life the bustling activity of a harbor. In this exciting visual adventure, Crews vividly portrays the color and action of liners, tankers, tugs, barges, ferryboats, and fireboats. Every page immerses readers in the dynamic world of maritime transportation.
A great informational book about all the different types of ships that come in and out of a harbor as well as the equipment that you would see at a harbor. Wonderful pictures.
This simplistic book incorporates the different aspects, and what a child might see at a harbor, including the different types of ships and sails.
