This is an informative book that would be of interest to second and third graders. There are so many incredible facts about killer whales that this book gives. For instance, males can be over 20 feet long and weigh up to ten pounds. They can also move through the water at 30 miles per hour. There are some great pictures in it too.

"Killer Whales" by Seymour Simon is a fun and educational book about whales. The book gives all sorts of facts about the size of male, female, and newborn baby whales. Some people call whales orcas. They swim about thirty miles per hour. They live in family groups called pods. They are hunters, but they do not attack humans. Seymour Simon taught school for more than twenty years. Then, he became a nonfiction writer for children. His first book was "Animals in Field and Loboratory." http://www.carolhurst.com/authors/ssimon.html
