This author combines two themes and does a very good job on both. The first two thirds of the book describe in detail the way of life and geographic distribution of the rock art prehistoric painters of mostly Texas. In the last third of the book the author describes the styles of rock art found in Texas and has examples of each with extensive text detail on each. References are abundant throughout the book. There is large general index. Everything about the prehistoric artists and the art is documented, illustrated, photographed, categorized, aged, indexed and summarized.
