Octopus's Garden

This isn’t a book so much as a song with pictures added. The original Octopus‘s Garden came out in 1969. This is a little funny, but when you hear the music, it makes so much more sense. This book is really about the illustration. The illustrations are done well, and I think if it was done correctly, this could be a lot of fun at story time.

Come sing and dance around in an octupus’s garden in the shade! The classic Beatles song comes to life with colorful illustrations from bestselling illustrator Ben Cort and a CD with a new music recording and audio reading from stellar musician Ringo Starr.

I love Ringo and I love the song but a great song does not necessarily make a good picture. In this case, it's quite awful thanks in large part to the dreadful illustrations.

This is a wonderful way to introduce this song to kids!
